Washington student shoots and scores!

A student from Washington Academy has been successful in securing a place on the squad after being nominated for the district football trials.

Pashew Hussain is the first Washington student in recent years, and possibly ever, to have made the team!  The local district is made up of 14 different schools across Washington, Chester- le -Street, Durham and Derwentside. The size of most district teams is usually around six to eight schools.

The Team Manager has confirmed that Pashew is the only player outside of the Russell Foster premier league to have made the squad, which is a fantastic achievement.

Vicky Carter, Headteacher said:

"Everyone at Washington is absolutely delighted for Pashew.  This is such a phenomenal achievement and staff and students will be rooting for him come match time."
